Main Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/2 cup white onion (finely diced)
  • 1 small jalapeño (seeded and finely chopped)
  • 1 small tomato (deseeded and finely diced)
  • 1/4 cup green chiles (canned, chopped)
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 pound white American cheese (cubed)

Seasonings:

  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt to taste

Garnish:

  • Chopped cilantro for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Sauté Aromatics: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and sauté the diced onion and jalapeño for about 3–4 minutes until soft and fragrant.
  2. Add Vegetables: Add the tomato and green chiles, and cook for another 1–2 minutes.
  3. Melt Cheese: Pour in the milk and heavy cream, stirring gently. Gradually add in the cubed white American cheese, stirring constantly until melted and smooth.
