  • 1 1/2 cups half-and-half or whole milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • Chocolate Mixture:

  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
  • Flavorings:

  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons instant coffee or espresso powder (optional, for a stronger mocha flavor)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, whisk together the half-and-half, heavy cream, cocoa powder, sweetened condensed milk, and sugar until smooth.
  2. Heat until warm and the sugar has dissolved, but do not boil.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in the peppermint extract, vanilla extract, and instant coffee (if using).
  4. Let cool slightly, then pour into a jar or bottle. Store in the refrigerator for up to 7 days. Shake well before each use.

Notes

  • For a dairy-free version, substitute the half-and-half and cream with coconut milk or almond milk.
