Bread:
- 4 slices sandwich bread
Pizza Sauce:
- 4 tablespoons pizza sauce
Cheese:
- 4 slices mozzarella cheese
Pepperoni:
- 16 slices pepperoni
Butter:
- 2 tablespoons butter (softened)
Seasoning:
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Optional:
- Extra grated Parmesan or crushed red pepper flakes for garnish
Instructions
- Prep the Sandwiches: Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread. On the unbuttered side of two slices, spread 2 tablespoons of pizza sauce each. Layer with 2 slices of mozzarella cheese and 8 slices of pepperoni per sandwich.
- Cook the Sandwiches: Top with the remaining bread slices, buttered side facing out. Sprinkle the outside with Italian seasoning. Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Place the sandwiches in the skillet and cook for 3–4 minutes per side, pressing gently with a spatula, until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- Serve: Slice and serve immediately. Garnish with Parmesan or crushed red pepper if desired.
