- 1 9-inch pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
Filling:
- 5 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup chopped pepperoni (plus extra slices for topping)
- 1/4 cup chopped bell pepper (optional)
- 2 tablespoons chopped red onion (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare the Crust: Place the pie crust into a 9-inch pie dish and crimp the edges.
- Mix the Filling: In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning until smooth.
- Layer the Ingredients: Sprinkle the cheeses into the crust, followed by the chopped pepperoni, bell pepper, and red onion if using.
- Add the Egg Mixture: Pour the egg mixture over the filling.
- Top and Bake: Top with extra pepperoni slices and bake for 40–45 minutes until set and golden.
- Serve: Allow to cool before slicing and serving.
Notes
- To prevent a soggy crust, blind bake it for 8 minutes before adding the filling.
- Swap out pepperoni for cooked sausage or try a vegetarian version with mushrooms and spinach.
