Meat Sauce:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
Cheese Layer:
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup cottage cheese
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
Additional:
- 1 bag (12 oz) egg noodles
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Cook Meat: In a skillet, cook ground beef, onion, and garlic until browned. Drain excess fat. Season with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and add tomato sauce. Simmer.
- Cook Noodles: Cook egg noodles until al dente, then drain.
- Prepare Cheese Layer: Mix sour cream, cottage cheese, and garlic powder in a bowl.
- Assemble: Layer noodles, cheese mixture, meat sauce, and shredded cheddar in the baking dish.
- Bake: Bake for 20–25 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Serve: Garnish with parsley and serve warm.
