Meat Sauce:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce

Cheese Layer:

  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup cottage cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Additional:

  • 1 bag (12 oz) egg noodles
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook Meat: In a skillet, cook ground beef, onion, and garlic until browned. Drain excess fat. Season with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and add tomato sauce. Simmer.
  3. Cook Noodles: Cook egg noodles until al dente, then drain.
  4. Prepare Cheese Layer: Mix sour cream, cottage cheese, and garlic powder in a bowl.
  5. Assemble: Layer noodles, cheese mixture, meat sauce, and shredded cheddar in the baking dish.
  6. Bake: Bake for 20–25 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  7. Serve: Garnish with parsley and serve warm.
