Ingredients

Scale

For the Bread:

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup canned pumpkin purée
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Topping:

  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Mix dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and ginger.
  3. Prepare wet ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the oil, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and eggs until smooth. Stir in the pumpkin purée, milk, and vanilla extract.
  4. Combine wet and dry: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring just until combined. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  5. Make topping: In a small bowl, mix the chopped pecans, brown sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter. Sprinkle evenly over the batter.
  6. Bake: Bake for 55–65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
