Batter:

- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 cups hot water
Instructions
- Preheat oven and prepare dish: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch square baking dish.
- Mix batter: In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, and pumpkin pie spice. Add pumpkin purée, milk, melted butter, and vanilla. Stir until just combined and spread in baking dish.
- Prepare topping: In a small bowl, mix pecans, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Sprinkle over batter.
- Add hot water: Slowly pour hot water over the top without stirring.
- Bake: Bake for 40–45 minutes until golden on top and set in the center.
- Cool and serve: Let cool for 10–15 minutes. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
