Sausage Cream Cheese Filling:
- 1 lb breakfast sausage (mild or spicy)
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions (optional)
Other:
- 2 cans refrigerated crescent roll dough (8 oz each)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Cook the sausage: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned and fully cooked. Drain excess grease if necessary.
- Make the filling: Reduce heat to low and stir in the cream cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until fully combined and creamy.
- Layer the casserole: Unroll one can of crescent roll dough and press it into the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Spread the sausage and cream cheese mixture evenly over the dough. Lay the second can of crescent dough over the top.
- Bake: Bake for 20–25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Serve: Let cool for 5 minutes, then slice and serve warm. Garnish with chopped green onions if desired.
