- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 cups beef or vegetable broth
- 3/4 cup uncooked white or brown rice
Garnish:
- Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Cook Ground Beef/Turkey Mixture: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and onion until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Combine Ingredients: Transfer beef mixture to slow cooker. Add bell peppers, garlic, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, seasonings, broth, and rice. Stir well.
- Cook: Cover and cook on low for 6–8 hours or on high for 3–4 hours until rice is tender.
- Serve: Adjust seasoning if needed. Ladle into bowls, garnish with parsley, and serve.

- If you prefer firmer rice, cook it separately and add before serving.
