Instructions
- Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.

- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Combine and Chill: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until a soft dough forms. Divide the dough in half, flatten each half into a disc, wrap in plastic wrap, and chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
- Preheat and Roll: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the chilled dough to about 1/4 inch thickness.
- Cut and Bake: Use cookie cutters to cut out desired shapes and place them 1 inch apart on the prepared baking sheets. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are just barely golden.
- Cool and Decorate: Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before decorating.
