Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Mix dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, ginger, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.
- Cream butter and sugar: In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add wet ingredients: Beat in the egg, molasses, and vanilla until well combined.
- Combine wet and dry: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until a soft dough forms.
- Shape and bake: Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough, roll into balls, coat in sugar, and place on a baking sheet. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes until edges are set and centers are soft.
- Cool and enjoy: Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
