Description

This Spicy Jalapeño Pepper Jack Burger features juicy beef patties seasoned with smoked paprika and Worcestershire sauce, topped with melted pepper jack cheese and fresh jalapeño slices. Paired with a creamy, spicy sauce and fresh veggies on toasted buns, this burger delivers a deliciously bold and flavorful meal perfect for grill lovers.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Patties

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 fresh jalapeño, sliced
  • 4 slices pepper jack cheese

For the Buns and Topping

  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce
  • 1/2 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • 1/4 cup red onion, sliced

Instructions

  1. Prep the Grill or Skillet: Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat to ensure it’s ready for cooking the burger patties evenly.
  2. Prepare the Patties: In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix thoroughly but gently to keep the patties tender. Form the mixture into four equal-sized patties.
  3. Cook the Patties: Place the patties on the heated grill or skillet. Cook for about 4 to 5 minutes on one side until nicely browned. Flip the patties and cook for another 4 to 5 minutes or until they reach your preferred doneness.
  4. Melt the Cheese: During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of pepper jack cheese on each patty and cover or close the grill lid to help the cheese melt perfectly.
  5. Toast the Buns: Lightly butter the hamburger buns and toast them on the grill or skillet until golden and slightly crispy.
  6. Make the Spicy Sauce: In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, ketchup, and hot sauce, mixing well to create a flavorful spicy spread.
  7. Assemble the Burgers: Spread the spicy sauce on the toasted buns. Layer on shredded lettuce, tomato slices, red onion slices, the cooked patties with melted cheese, and fresh sliced jalapeños for added heat.
  8. Serve: Serve the burgers immediately while warm and juicy for the best experience.

Notes

  • For extra heat, use pickled jalapeños or add more hot sauce to the spread.
  • Ground turkey can be used as a lighter alternative to beef.
