Brownies:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)
Spider Web Topping:
- 1/2 cup white chocolate chips or white candy melts
- 1–2 teaspoons coconut oil (for melting)
- Black decorating gel or candy spiders (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven and prepare the pan: Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease or line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Mix wet ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, stir together melted butter and sugar. Beat in eggs and vanilla until smooth.
- Add dry ingredients: Add cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Mix until no dry streaks remain. Fold in chocolate chips.
- Bake: Pour batter into the pan and bake for 20–25 minutes until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs. Cool completely.
- Make spider web topping: Melt white chocolate chips with coconut oil. Pipe a spiral onto brownies and drag a toothpick to create a web pattern.
- Decorate: Add black gel or candy spiders. Chill briefly before cutting into squares.
