Noodles:

  • 8 oz lo mein or spaghetti noodles
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil

Protein:

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (divided)
  • 8 oz flank steak (thinly sliced)
  • 8 oz shrimp (peeled and deveined)

Veggies:

  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger (grated)
  • 1 red bell pepper (thinly sliced)
  • 1 cup snap peas
  • 2 green onions (sliced)

Sauce:

  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water
  • Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook Noodles: Cook noodles according to package instructions, drain, rinse under cold water, and toss with sesame oil.
  2. Prepare Sauce: Whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, brown sugar, and cornstarch slurry; set aside.
  3. Stir-Fry: Sear steak, cook shrimp, sauté garlic and ginger, stir-fry bell pepper and snap peas, combine all ingredients with cooked noodles and sauce, toss until heated through.
  4. Finish: Top with green onions and sesame seeds if desired. Serve hot.

Notes

  • You can substitute chicken or tofu for the steak and shrimp if preferred.
  • Add chili flakes or sriracha to the sauce for heat.
  • Best served fresh but can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days.
