For Baking Soda Bath:
- 1/4 cup baking soda
- 4 cups water
For Topping:
- Coarse salt
Instructions
- Dough Preparation: Combine warm water, yeast, and sugar in a large bowl. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy. Add flour, salt, and melted butter. Stir until a shaggy dough forms, then knead until smooth. Let rise until doubled in size.
- Preheat and Boil: Preheat oven and line baking sheets. Boil water and baking soda in a saucepan.
- Shape and Bake: Divide dough, shape into bites, boil in baking soda bath, then bake until golden brown.
- Finishing Touches: Brush with melted butter, sprinkle with salt, and serve warm.
