Ingredients
Scale
Dough:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup finely chopped pecans or walnuts
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Coating:
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for rolling)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Mix the dough: In a large bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy. Add the sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth. Stir in the flour, salt, and chopped nuts until a soft dough forms.
- Shape the cookies: Scoop tablespoon-sized portions and roll them into balls. Place the dough balls on the prepared baking sheet about 1 inch apart.
- Bake: Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the bottoms are just golden and the tops are set but not browned.
- Coat with sugar: Let cookies cool for 5 minutes on the pan, then roll them in powdered sugar while still warm. Let cool completely, then roll again in powdered sugar for a classic snowy finish.
Notes
- You can substitute other finely chopped nuts like almonds or macadamias.
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of cinnamon or a splash of almond extract.
