Instructions
- Create Slurry: In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch and water to form a slurry and set aside.
- Sauté Aromatics: In a saucepan over medium heat, add sesame oil. Sauté the garlic and ginger until fragrant.
- Make Sauce: Add soy sauce, rice vinegar, hoisin sauce, chili garlic sauce, and brown sugar to the pan. Bring to a simmer. Stir in the cornstarch slurry and simmer until thickened.
- Finish: Add red pepper flakes if desired. Remove from heat and cool slightly before serving or storing.
