Description

This creamy and flavorful White Queso Dip is the perfect appetizer for any gathering. Made with a blend of cheeses and a hint of spice, it’s a crowd-pleaser that will have everyone coming back for more.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/4 cup diced white onion
  • 12 jalapeños (seeded and finely chopped)
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 pound white American cheese (deli-sliced or cubed)
  • 1/4 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese

Seasonings and Garnish:

  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt to taste
  • Chopped cilantro or diced tomatoes for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Sauté Aromatics: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add onion and jalapeños and sauté for 2–3 minutes until softened and fragrant.
  2. Make Cheese Sauce: Stir in the milk and heavy cream and bring just to a gentle simmer. Reduce heat to low and gradually stir in the cheeses, stirring constantly until melted and smooth.
  3. Season and Serve: Add garlic powder, cumin, and salt to taste. Keep warm on low heat until ready to serve, stirring occasionally.

Notes

  • For a thinner dip, add a little extra milk.
  • For more heat, leave some jalapeño seeds or add a pinch of cayenne.
  • Best served warm with tortilla chips, over nachos, or as a drizzle for tacos.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container and reheat gently on the stovetop or in the microwave, stirring frequently.
